Sustainability is a global focus across all industries, and there is a need for the lubricants industry to have a clearly defined document capturing the broadly accepted terminology and methodology for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Carbon Footprinting (CFP) of lubricant products. This presentation reports on the efforts of the API Sustainability Work Group to harmonized practices and to reduce individual requirements across global markets.  Having a single methodology for LCA and CFP in place will not only provide a level playing field for the lubricant producers but will also give consumers additional confidence in Sustainability in the Lubricants Industry
