SUMMARY:ALE 2026 Technical Training - Grease Technology: Fundamentals\, Manufacturing & Application
DESCRIPTION:In Cooperation with the European Lubricating Grease Institute (ELGI)\nAbout the Course\nGrease is widely used across industry\, yet expertise in grease formulation\, manufacturing and field diagnosis remains relatively scarce across the Asia-Pacific region. \nDelivered in cooperation with the European Lubricating Grease Institute (ELGI) and led by four grease experts from ELGI member companies\, this two-day technical training course provides engineers\, formulators\, distributors\, end-users and maintenance professionals with a structured grounding in grease technology. \nThe programme follows the ELGI curriculum\, adapted for an Asian audience\, and progresses from the fundamentals of base oils\, thickener chemistry\, additives and test methods to grease manufacturing\, application selection\, field diagnosis\, regulations\, conformity standards and current market trends. \nApproximately 11 hours of instruction will be delivered across the two days\, combining technical learning with practical application. \nWho Should Attend\nThis course is designed for lubricant formulators and technical staff; reliability\, maintenance and plant engineers; grease distributors and technical sales personnel; procurement specifiers; end-users; and professionals moving into the grease category from a broader lubricants background. \nNo prior grease-specific training is required. \nWhat You Will Learn\nBy the end of the two-day course\, participants will be able to: \n\nExplain how base oil\, thickener and additive systems combine to define grease performance.\nIdentify major thickener types and understand the applications each suits.\nInterpret standard grease test methods and understand what the results mean in practice.\nUnderstand how grease is manufactured and how process choices affect the finished product.\nSelect grease based on application\, operating conditions and compatibility.\nNavigate key regulations\, conformity standards and current market trends.\n\nProgramme Overview\nDay 1: Chemistry & Analysis\nThe first day will establish the technical foundation of grease technology\, covering base oils\, thickeners\, additives and standard test methods. Participants will gain an understanding of the components that determine grease performance and how analytical results can be interpreted in practical applications. \nDay 2: Manufacturing\, Application & Market\nThe second day will focus on grease manufacturing\, application and selection\, regulations\, conformity standards and market trends. \nThe programme will also include an interactive Field Diagnosis Clinic\, examining real-world grease issues including bearing failures\, incompatibility\, oil bleed\, consistency problems and contamination. Participants are encouraged to bring their own field cases for discussion. \nCourse Schedule\nThe course will provide approximately 11 hours of instruction across two days\, with a one-hour lunch break and two 30-minute coffee breaks each day. \nCoffee and tea\, morning and afternoon snacks\, and a packed lunch will be provided daily. \nFees & Registration\nALIA Members: USD 500 per personNon-members: USD 1\,000 per person \nEarly-Bird Rate until 10 August 2026:ALIA Members: USD 450 per personNon-members: USD 900 per person \nThe registration fee includes: \n\nTwo days of technical training\nCourse materials\nLunch and refreshments on both days\nCertificate of completion\n\nVenue: Hall 1\, MITEC\, Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia\nREGISTER NOW: (https://tickets.fuelsandlubes.com/events/flweek/2304794/r/member) \nCourse content and lecturers may be subject to change.
