Message From ALMU Chairman

Dear Members

ALMU has been active in getting activities started to serve you. Five sub‐committees, namely Events & Activities; Governance, Best Practice and International Relations; Professional Development Technology & Information and Membership Sub‐Committee have been formed. These committees have been tasked to address the concerns that were gathered from the initial survey results of members. Sub‐committee chairmen have come up with an action plan in November 2018 and begun functioning. If you have not yet signed up to join a sub‐committee, you are most welcome to do so.

Preparations are underway for the inaugural ALMU Annual General Meeting and ALMU Global Leadership Summit on 4‐5 March 2019, both of which will be held at Grand Hyatt Singapore. To give more value to your membership, we are offering a member‐exclusive early bird registration fee from 15 November to 31 December 2018, so I suggest that you nominate yourself or a company representative to attend this Summit. The early bird fee is US$500 per registrant for ALMU members and US$1,000 per registrant for non‐members. After December 31, the registration fee for member will be US$650 and for non‐member, US$1,300.

We have also signed a cross‐marketing agreement with F+L Week 2019, which provides ALMU member a special 15% discount off their regular registration fee.

Currently, our membership has reached a critical mass of more than 90 members, since membership recruitment started in March 2018, following the official launch of ALMU. In summary, our membership composition includes the following:

  • 62 Ordinary Members, comprising of 45 Independent Lubricant Manufacturers and 17 Major & National Oil Companies
  • 22 Associate Members, comprising of Suppliers
  • 2 Honorary Members
  • 7 Affiliate Members

We are also planning a Lube Exhibition in early September 2019 and would like to request your company to include this in your 2019 budget planning. This exhibition will be ASEAN‐focused and unlike similar lube exhibitions in other regions of the world, will focus on business matching. We are also planning other activities around that period, including sub‐committee meetings, training workshops and ALMU Annual Dinner. So stay tuned!

My best wishes,

DR HO LENG WOON
Chairman
Asian Lubricant Manufacturers Union
