Biodata
Miah Thye is the technical manager for Shell Lubricants. He started his career with Shell in 2004 as a category manager marketing Shell automotive lubricants for the retail channel. In 2006 he moved to a lubricants technical advisor role and subsequently became a technical coach to Shell distributors’ frontline technical support team across 10 countries in APAC region. With 15 years of experience in the industry, he now leads a team of lubricants technical advisors providing technical consultancy support for automotive as well as industrial sectors across Singapore and Malaysia.
Brief Overview
This session aims to provide participants a basic understanding of functions of an engine oil and an appreciation for the key differences between engine oil for passenger cars, motorcycles and heavy duty diesel engines. At the end of this session, participants will be able to select the appropriate oil for a vehicle. The session will also briefly introduce other automotive fluids like gear oil, coolant and brake fluid.
