We’re excited to introduce the ALIA Council for the 2022-2024 term, following their election during a virtual meeting on August 17, 2022. The Council welcomes eight new members, enhancing our leadership with fresh perspectives. At the helm is our new ALIA Chairperson, Charlotte Kehoe, Asia Pacific Technology Manager for bp Castrol. At bp Castrol, Charlotte leads a team dedicated to translating market insights into a competitive technology strategy. Charlotte has been Chair of ALIA’s Sustainability Subcommittee since its establishment in November 2021.

Gagan has particular expertise in fast-tracking growth in emerging markets and has worked in India, China, Indonesia and Singapore.

As PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) Regional Managing Director for Asia, Khalid spearheads commercial business and operations to ensure profitability in PETRONAS’ Asia growth strategy. Khalid actively pursues lubricants market opportunities in Asia, conducting market analysis, competitor assessments and driving new product/service development. Before his April 2023 appointment, Khalid served as head of corporate strategy and communications at ENGEN Petroleum Limited from January 2019 and head of lubricants business in Africa from July 2020.

Kwok, Yew Meng

Yew Meng has been in the oil and gas industry for more than 25 years, mostly in fuels retail, project planning, refining projects and in the last few years in marine lubricants. He is currently working on lubricant technology issues relating to sustainability and is actively engaged in the energy transition in the marine industry.

Dr. Wan joined SK in 1996. After working in lubricant R&D for more than 20 years, he moved to SK Lubricants HQ as General Manager for Global Tech Solutions. He has demonstrated competency in R&D, including OEM product development and technical services for both finished lubricants and lubricating base oils.

Dr. Gupta has a Ph.D. in Refining Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun, and boasts over three decades of expertise in lubricants, additives, quality assurance, manufacturing, product development, and technical support. Currently, he serves as the Senior Vice President of Quality, R&D, and Technical at Apar Industries Limited in Mumbai, India.

Dr. Wong Min Hao

Base Oil Lead Business Development Specialist – AP and AMEP, Chevron

Dr. Wong Min Hao is currently Base Oil Lead Business Development Specialist – AP and AMEP of Chevron based in Singapore. He previously worked in Chevron Oronite for 10 years as Account Manager, Market Manager and including a stint in Chevron Oronite Technology Japan as Product Qualification Engineer. Before joining Chevron Oronite, he worked for Kaneka Japan Corporation as a polymer scientist.
He graduated in 2013 with a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. He received his B. Appl. Sci. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
